Telstra Smart Modem Gen 2
MyHomeFone NBN services use IPoE (Dynamic IP) as standard. This means you should configure your modem/router to use DHCP, IPoE, or Dynamic IP settings. Most modems have an easy-to-use wizard to guide you through this during setup.
Be Aware
If you’re using a modem/router from another internet provider or one you purchased yourself, please note:
- The setup process may differ depending on the device model or firmware version.
- If you need help configuring your modem/router, we recommend contacting the device manufacturer directly, as MyHomeFone cannot provide specific support for equipment we didn’t supply.
- This information is provided as a courtesy to assist with common setup scenarios. While we strive for accuracy, MyHomeFone cannot guarantee that the details provided will work for every modem/router or situation. For more information, please visit our article Using Your Own NBN Modem Router (BYO)
Important
The Telstra Smart Modem Gen 2 supports IPoE by default and should automatically connect to your MyHomeFone NBN service.
After receiving our Service Completion Advice email, if you have any connection problems, please try turning the modem off at the power point for 5 minutes, then turn it back on. Wait a few minutes before trying again. If problems persist, follow the reset steps below.
