National AusAlert Test – Monday 27 July 2026

National AusAlert Test – Monday 27 July 2026

On Monday 27 July 2026, the Australian Government will conduct a national test of the new AusAlert emergency warning system.

AusAlert is Australia's new national emergency warning system and uses Cell Broadcast technology to deliver emergency alerts to compatible mobile devices in affected areas.

What does this mean for myhomefone / Daktel services?

Mobile Phone Services

Customers with a mobile phone service may receive the national test alert if their device is compatible and connected to the mobile network at the time of the test.

myhomefone / Daktel Devices

Unlike traditional mobile phone handsets, these are specialised devices. While we are not yet certain how the national test may affect these devices, we do not expect them to display the test alert or produce any alert sounds or notifications. The national test will also provide us with an opportunity to observe how our devices respond to Cell Broadcast emergency alerts.

If your device is experiencing problems operating as normal after the test, please restart it first.
  1. Home Hub: Turn the base unit off using the power switch on the back of the unit. Leave it switched off for 30 seconds, then turn it back on.
  2. SOS Watch: Press and hold the silver button for at least 15 seconds until the watch restarts.
If the problem persists after restarting your device, please email our Support Team

What if I don't receive the test alert?

No action is required if you do not receive the test alert. This is only a national system test, and there are a number of reasons why a compatible device may not receive the alert. Please refer to the link below for more information.
