How can I make my NBN faster?

How can I make my NBN faster?

If you're looking to improve the speed of your NBN internet service, here are a few items to first consider:
  1. Isolation Test - your NBN service may already be operating within specification. Many speed issues are due to in-home equipment issues such as poor cabling or Wi-Fi signal. Visit our 'Slow Speeds - NBN Connections' article for more details.

  2. Speed Tier - you may need to upgrade to a higher speed plan, especially if you are currently connected using an entry-level plan and more than one person in your home is online simultaneously or you regularly stream TV or movies in high definition.

  3. Upgrade to Full Fibre - NBN uses a mix of different connection types depending on your area. For the large majority of the population, any of these connection types are adequate. Heavy users, however, may benefit from upgrading their NBN connection type to Fibre to the Premises (FTTP). This is only available in select areas - additional install and modem upgrade charges may apply.

If you're experiencing issues due to non-compliant or poorly maintained cabling beyond NBN's Network Boundary Point, upgrading to full fibre may also be a good alternative instead of remediating any existing cabling that's the homeowner's or building management's responsibility.
