If you are planning on ordering a new service or making changes to an existing service, it is essential to remember the Telco Embargo Period as the year draws to a close and the holiday season approaches.
What is the Telco Embargo Period?
The Telecommunications Industry Embargo Period is an annual occurrence where staffing levels reduce and major carriers cease performing network reconfigurations, relocations, or any hardware or software upgrades on their networks. During this period provisioning times may be delayed for new service orders or changes to existing services. Depending on the type of work required (i.e., fixed-line installations), orders may not be processed until after the embargo.
When is the Embargo Period?
myhomefone’s Embargo Period will run from 5pm on the 15th December 2023 to 9am on the 15th January 2024.
Key facts for the embargo period
- Our Customer Care Team will remain operational with skeleton staff excluding public holidays.
- New orders for standard services will be accepted as usual but can be subject to processing delays by upstream carriers.
- Phone number porting will continue but can be subject to processing delays by upstream carriers.
- Non-standard requests will not be processed.
